Work Benches

This week my wife (and cat floss) and I built a work bench for the garage.

It mainly used 2×4 either scavenged from the destruction of my old car port or some well seasoned timber from round the back of my grandfathers shed.

The top had to be purchased unfortunately! I also bought hardboard to cover the new wood. This is used as a protective layer and the smooth surface gives less to catch on.

A quick visit to my grandfathers also turned up a large vice – as used by my grandfathers grandfather!

And bizarrely what we believe may well be the first John O’Groats sign post showing Landsend. Apparently it was donated to my grandfather when it was replaced 15 (probably more) years ago!
