A small green point to those with cars…
Check everything regularly! Fortunately I checked my car stats (that’s your tires, oil, coolant levels etc) as per my manual. I don’t do it on a weekly basis like I should, but what the hey. Guess what I found? Very, very, very low oil. Very.
1 Litre (and that’s £13.99) later and my car is back upto specs. Why is this green? Well if you let your oil levels drop too low, suddenly you find yourself requiring a new engine when it has 40,000 or so miles in it left… now that’s wastage!

Usually my car gets about 40-45 gallon under normal driving conditions. The end of my experiment showed that I managed 46.25mpg by driving carefully! Compared to
41.77 by always driving at the limit on exactly the same terrain – I can’t account for temperature (it has been warm recently) but at least I can prove a substantial difference between the two. 4.48mpg doesn’t seem a lot, but it works out at roughly a saving of 10% on my fuel bills (about £90pa). And of course keeps the enviroment feeling healthier than it otherwise would…
